Cambridge Cash for the Community 2016

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We are pleased to announce that we have been selected for this years ‘Cambridge Cash for the Community’ scheme.

Readers of the Cambridge News & our supporters only need to collect & cut out as many of the 24 printed tokens as they can, & take them into one of The Cambridge Building Society’s branches or one of the Cambridge News offices.

The first of the 24 tokens will appear in the Cambridge News on Monday, February 15, 2016. The remaining tokens will appear daily up until and including Saturday, March 12, 2016.

There will also be a bonus digital token to download which will be worth two tokens, & available on the Cambridge News & Cambridge Building Society websites. (Keep an eye on the Cambridge News & Cambridge Building Society social media sites for more information on this).

The tokens must be delivered no later 12pm on Friday, March 18, 2016. You will be required to complete a form detailing how many coupons you’ve collected, & for which group these have been collected for. The form will be available to download or cut out of the Cambridge News.

So how does it work?

The total number of tokens collected for our Centre will be divided by 10,000 – which will indicate how much each token is worth.

Our tokens will then be counted & the total sum will be given to us in ‘The Cambridge Cash for the Community’ cheque presentation event – which will be held in March.

So please folks – get collecting! Please also spread the word!

Thank you so much!

Fundraising Skydive in July

By | Donation, Fundraising | No Comments

On the 27th July at 12 noon, a very brave man called Ken Priestman is going to jump out of a plane in aid of our Centre.

Please consider sponsoring him & asking your friends & family if they would like to also.

You can sponsor Ken via ‘Virgin Money Giving’ by clicking here.

Thank you in advance for all of your support & donations.

About us:

We are a small self-funded charity who specialises in offering a number of therapies to people with M.S & other conditions. Therapies are offered on a subsidised membership basis. We require funds in order to continue to offer our treatments on a financially inclusive basis for all, & to make the necessary improvements to the Centre.

Waitrose (Huntingdon) Green Token Fundraiser (Community Matters)

By | Donation, Fundraising | No Comments

We are delighted to announce that Waitrose in Huntingdon has selected us to be one of the charities of the month (in July) – under their ‘Community Matters’ fundraising scheme.

Please consider donating your green tokens to us, & advise your friends & family, so they may do the same (if they so wish).

To receive a green token at Waitrose, simply complete your shopping with them & you will be given a token at the checkout. Place the token into the relevant collection box at the Huntingdon branch of Waitrose, during July. (If you are not automatically given a green token at checkout, please do ask for one. Apparently there is no minimum spend.)

The more tokens we collect, the bigger the portion of the donation pot we will receive (which is shared out between three local good causes each month).

For more information, view this link.

Thank you in advance. We really appreciate your help.

Recycle and raise funds for the Centre

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Since the recycling bins have been installed in March 2012 we have sent off many shipments of clothing to Rag Bag and received numerous funds in return. We encourage members of the public from the surrounding Huntingdon area to use our recycling facilities. Not only are you helping other people with your unwanted items, but you are also supporting your local MS Centre as well.

So in the new year, if you are thinking of having a spring clean or have any friends or family that are doing a spring clean please think of our recycling facilities here at Bradbury House. Details of what can be put in the recycling bag are on the packaging. Rag Bag will take most types of clothing, textiles, bags and shoes, but not bric-a-brac or quilts and duvets.

Besides recycling your clothing, you can also help save the environment by recycling your empty ink cartridges, again bags are available from the reception desk at the MS Centre. The green recycling factory bags are suited to empty Canon, HP & Samsung cartridges, whilst the plastic wise recycling bags are suitable for everything else; including empty Epson cartridges which are generally not recycled.

The bags can also be used to pop your old mobile phone into… now that’s good service!!
