If the answer to any of the above is ‘yes’, then this may be the role for you.
We are currently looking for talented individuals to assist us in running our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) facility – on a volunteer basis.
Full free training will be offered to the right candidates.
Within this unique role, you will assist our members to move in & out of the chamber, & aid them in the set up of their oxygen treatment equipment – notably, some of our members have limited mobility, are wheelchair bound, or have other impairments. You will also provide members & carers with support during sessions.
This is a responsible role, where you will be required to run the oxygen therapy sessions from a control panel (on the outside of the chamber). Please note: two people are required to run each session, so you will never run sessions on your own.
In addition, your role will involve booking appointments, cleaning equipment, conducting safety checks, & advocating the possible benefits of the treatment to new & existing customers.
Moreover, you will also be required to reassure new members about the sensations they might experience during treatment, & how best to deal with them; whilst ensuring members know how to communicate with the chamber operators during treatment. You will also be responsible for checking that no prohibited items are taken into the chamber.
Ideally, you will possess a willingness to learn & good people skills, together with a positive & friendly approach.
Each session lasts for up to 90 minutes and there are usually 2 – 3 sessions per day – two sessions on Monday’s & Tuesday’s, & three sessions on a Thursday. We do sometimes open on other days. Please note: we do not open on Bank Holiday Monday’s.
Candidate availability would ideally include a full morning, full afternoon, or a full day – in order to support a few sessions, if possible. However, we would also welcome those who could only volunteer for a few hours.
You will be responsible to the Oxygen Treatment Coordinator.
