Meet the Trustees …
Hi, I'm Pauline. I have been attending the M.S Centre for the past 3 years with my Daughter. Before getting involved with the M.S Centre, I was a Registered General Nurse (RGN) for 44 years, where I managed a team of 50 staff. I enjoy talking to people, and listening to their needs, which is great for my work here.
I volunteer at the M.S Centre on Mondays, and any other days that I'm needed. The Centre is a great place to meet people, chat, and enjoy the company of others. Come and see what's on offer!
Hi, my name is Mike. I’ve been working at the Centre for 5 years. During this time, I have previously been the Chairperson of the Trustees. I really enjoy being part of the team - organising fund raising and helping the Centre to progress, to benefit all of the members.
Before I helped out at the Centre, I used to work as a Graphic Designer. In addition, I have always been good at odd jobs and DIY, so I like to help out around the Centre in this way. As a part of my role, I also help out with the production of posters, to promote the fundraising activities we run. Furthermore, I also enjoy organising events & day trips for the members.
I work at the Centre most Thursdays and, occasionally, on Mondays. The M.S Centre is a great place to meet people with similar conditions. It helps you to realise that you are not alone. The Centre offers a number of complementary and alternative therapies - that help to lift your spirits and give you a better feeling of well-being.
Hi, I'm Noel. I've been working at the M.S Centre for the past two years. As well as being a Trustee, I also help out with the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber. I love helping people, and the staff, volunteers and members here, at the Centre, are so friendly.
Before I retired, I worked as a Police Officer, as well as an Advanced Driver Examiner and a Parish Councillor. Therefore, also being trained to operate the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber is a fantastic opportunity.
I work at the Centre on Mondays and Thursdays. The Centre offers varied skilled Therapists in numerous occupations - from massages to foot health. It is a good and friendly meeting place with helpful staff and a small but competent cafe - which supplies light lunches and refreshments. This Centre is a place where people with varied conditions can meet to discuss their problems, health and otherwise, without feeling shy, and know that others share the same feelings and problems.
Hi, my name is Jo Holmes.
I have been attending the Centre for the last 3 – 4 years or so, as I have M.S & Epilepsy. I regularly use the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy facility, for the better management of my conditions, & I also have a hands on therapy called Shiatsu. The Oxygen Therapy helps me to sleep better & restores better bladder function, & both therapies help to ease my pain.
I very much enjoy coming to the Centre & volunteering. I try to help where I can & I particularly enjoy participating within fundraising activities, & writing to other businesses for fundraising purposes.
You can usually find me at the Centre on a Monday. I look forward to welcoming you here, & happy to talk about my experiences with both M.S & Epilepsy & the usefulness of our therapies.
